Sweet Olive Farm

Earlier this month I had a chance to visit Sweet Olive Farm, an animal rescue in Winterville, Georgia. Named after one of the many dogs the owners have rescued over the years, the farm was founded in 2010 and has a wonderful history that started with 10 dogs, a pot-bellied pig, and a rooster. Over the years Sweet Olive Farm has grown into a sanctuary for all kinds of farm and exotic animals—chickens, cows, goats, pigs, horses, donkeys, alpacas, sheep, ducks, turkeys, and even an emu.

There were lots of wonderful things about Sweet Olive Farm, but three really stood out to me. First, the sheer number of animals, and second, the fact that all of the animals coexist so peacefully. Everywhere you turn, you can see different kinds of animals roaming around together and enjoying a life where they are safe and well cared for.

And finally, I was so impressed with the fact that the owners can tell you the story of each individual animal on the farm. Learning about the circumstances each animal was rescued from made me feel all the more appreciative of the wonderful work that Sweet Olive Farm is doing.

If you have a heart for animals, I highly recommend visiting Sweet Olive Farm. Better yet, make a donation or take some time to volunteer to help them continue providing an amazing home for animals in need.

Now to share some fun photo memories from the visit.
